A Provençal house with a pool and a market town nearby fills a week easily. We arrange the driver, the one or two guided days, and the restaurants that fill up weeks ahead.

The Côte d'Azur adds a private boat for the day.

Where we go

Provence and the Luberon for hill villages and markets; the Côte d'Azur for the sea; the Dordogne for rivers and castles; Corsica for beaches that rival the Caribbean; the Loire for châteaux. Each has houses with pools, views and staff, and each gives a different week.

How the week runs

A house as the base and a car for days out, with a chef for some or all of the evenings and a guide for the days that need one. Markets in the mornings, a pool in the afternoons, and a long table at night. We arrange the house, the staff, the transfers and the days you want organised.

Who it suits and when

Families and groups of friends, multi-generational parties who need bedrooms for everybody, and couples who want a house rather than a hotel. June and September for warmth without crowds; July and August for the full summer, booked early.

Best time
January to March for skiing. May, June, and September for Provence and the coast.
Suits
Multi-generational holidays · Groups of friends sharing one base · Families with young children
