Greece for families
An island villa with a pool, a boat day and beaches with shallow water, planned around the ferries.
Greece for a family is about choosing the right island. Shallow beaches, a house with a pool and a short transfer matter more than the view from the brochure, and the islands differ more than they look.
Tell us the ages and the dates. We suggest two or three islands that fit and explain the differences.
Where we go
Paros, Naxos or Crete for beaches, space and easy flights; Corfu for green hills and villas with pools; the Peloponnese for a mainland alternative with history and empty coast. A night or two in Athens at the start with a guide for the Acropolis suits older children.
How the week runs
One house for the week, a boat day to coves the ferries do not reach, a taverna lunch that lasts the afternoon, and mornings at a beach with a lifeguard and shallow water. A cook or a weekly shop is arranged before arrival.
Who it suits and when
Families with young children and groups of two or three families. June and September are ideal; July and August are hot and busy but work with a pool and an early start.
