Iceland family expedition
Glaciers, black beaches, and hot pools, with a guide who makes the weather part of it.

Iceland · Family holidays
Glaciers, black beaches, and a hot pool at the end of every day.
Iceland is an expedition children understand. A private guide keeps the days short and makes the weather part of the story.
We build in a spare day for the wind.
The south coast for waterfalls, black beaches and glaciers you can walk on; the Golden Circle for geysers and a tectonic rift; the Snæfellsnes peninsula for a quieter version of everything; Reykjavik for a day. Lodges with hot tubs and lava fields outside the window are the point.
A private guide and vehicle for the whole trip, so the day flexes with the weather and the children. Glacier walks, a lava tunnel, horse-riding on Icelandic horses, whale watching, and a hot spring most afternoons. Seven to ten nights with two or three bases rather than a new hotel every night.
Families with children from about six who like being outside and do not mind weather. June to August for long days and open roads; February to March for northern lights, ice caves and snow, with shorter, more carefully planned days.
