Where we go
Two nights in the cultural triangle for Sigiriya, three in the hill country in a planter's bungalow, two in a safari camp and four or five on the south or east coast depending on the season. Galle fort is a good stop between the park and the beach.
How the week runs
A private driver throughout, with legs kept under three hours and the hill-country train for the scenic stretch. Guides join for the ruins and the park. The beach days are unplanned by design.
