Private Kenya safari
Two conservancies, one private vehicle, and mornings that start when you do.

Kenya · Family holidays
An exclusive-use house or a family camp, a private guide, and a pool between game drives.
Kenya is the easiest first family safari: short flights, family houses with pools, and guides who know how to pace a drive for a six-year-old and a sixteen-year-old in the same car.
We usually propose one house for the week rather than moving camps. The children settle; the adults get a vehicle that leaves when they are ready.
Private houses on the Laikipia plateau and the Mara conservancies, where the vehicle, guide and schedule belong to one family. Nairobi is a one-night stop at most. The coast at Diani or Watamu finishes the trip with a pool, a reef and a beach the children can run on.
Mornings are for game drives at the children's pace, with a guide who knows how to hold a seven-year-old's attention. Afternoons are for the pool, bush walks with a ranger, or learning to track. Dinner is when the family wants it. A house with its own staff removes the pressure of a camp timetable.
Families with children from about five upwards, multi-generational groups, and anyone who wants the safari without the shared-vehicle compromises. School holidays in July, August and over Christmas work well in Kenya; Easter is a good second choice.
