Tanzania: crater and plains
One morning in the crater, a week with the herds.

Tanzania · Safari
The Ngorongoro Crater at dawn, then a mobile camp positioned for the herds.
Tanzania rewards travellers who follow the season. A mobile camp set up where the herds are that month, one extraordinary morning in the crater, and a private concession for the last nights.
We confirm the month before we propose the corner of the park.
The Serengeti follows the herds: the south for calving from January to March, the central plains year-round, the north and the Mara River for crossings from July to October. Ngorongoro Crater adds a morning on the crater floor. Tarangire in the dry season is elephant country. The south and west, Ruaha and Katavi, are for second safaris and parties who want almost nobody else around.
Distances are longer than in Kenya, so we fly between regions and keep drives inside the parks. Mobile camps move with the migration; permanent camps give more comfort. Eight nights covers two regions and the crater; add Zanzibar or the Mafia archipelago for a coast finish.
Travellers who want the migration itself, second-time safari-goers, and photographers. Timing depends on which part of the migration you want to see, and we plan the route around that rather than around a fixed list of parks.

Good to know
Three or four nights on the coast after a safari is a classic and a short flight.
No. It is a starting point. A specialist writes a private proposal and availability is confirmed then.
A specialist replies personally with a first private proposal: stays, pacing, and a guide price. No obligation for the first conversation.
