Overview
AmaMagna is about twice the width of a standard European river ship, so she carries around 196 guests in suites from around 33 square meters, with a real pool, four dining venues, a spa and a water sports platform. She sails only the Danube.
Most river ships are built to the same lock-limited dimensions, which is why cabins are compact and there is one restaurant. AmaMagna's extra width changes that: the standard suite is larger than many ocean balcony cabins, there is a 300-square-meter pool deck, and Jimmy's wine bar, the Al Fresco restaurant and the Chef's Table join the main dining room.
She is the river ship we propose to grandparents who want space and to multigenerational parties on the Danube's capitals, Budapest to Vilshofen or the reverse. The trade-off is route: the Danube only, which for most first-time river cruisers is exactly where they wanted to go.

In our words, from the questions we are asked most. Suite names are the line's; which one we would book is ours.
- Suites
- Suites of around 33 square meters with a step-out balcony, Grand Suites around 44 square meters and Owner's Suites around 66 square meters with a separate living room; a few smaller staterooms sit on the lowest deck.
- Cabins we would book
- For a couple we would book a Suite midships on the Violin deck; for grandparents hosting adult children, a Grand Suite for them and Suites nearby for the rest.
- Dining
- The main restaurant, The Chef's Table tasting menu included once per cruise, Jimmy's wine bar with a family-style dinner, and the Al Fresco restaurant for casual lunches and dinners on deck.
- Entertainment
- Local performers come aboard in port, a pianist plays the lounge, there is a cinema and the Zen Wellness Studio runs classes; the water sports platform launches a Sundowner boat and small craft on calm stretches.

- No children's program on standard departures. On family-focused departures a dedicated team runs activities; those are the sailings we propose for parties with children under twelve.
- Grandparents
- The best river ship we know for older travelers: an elevator serving every deck, wide corridors, large bathrooms, gentle-paced excursions and a pool to come back to.
- Accessibility
- A limited number of accessible suites and an elevator to all decks, with step-free gangways in most Danube ports. AmaWaterways' official site lists the current detail and we confirm it per sailing.

Why does AmaMagna only sail the Danube?
Her width fits the Danube's locks and bridges but not those of the Rhine, Main or Moselle. That restricts her to Danube itineraries, mostly between Vilshofen and Budapest.
