S.S. Maria Theresa

Uniworld's most ornate ship, built for the Danube.

Overview

S.S. Maria Theresa entered service in 2015 and carries around 150 guests. It is the most lavish of Uniworld's Danube ships, with baroque interiors, an inclusive fare and a small heated pool.

Maria Theresa was built for the Danube and looks the part: gilt, chandeliers and a palette drawn from Vienna's palaces. The inclusive fare covers excursions, drinks and gratuities; the pool is a rarity on a river ship.

It suits grandparents and couples who enjoy the theater of it and want the Danube's capitals with nothing to arrange.

The fare

The S.S. Maria Theresa sailings we would shortlist run from about $5,100 per person for 7 nights, depending on ship, suite, season and itinerary.

What that includes

Dining and drinks; Excursions; Gratuities and Wi-Fi; Family activities on family departures. Anything not on that list, we price alongside the fare so there is no surprise on board.

Around the ship

Flights, hotel nights before and after, private transfers and any excursions outside the fare sit on top. Your proposal sets out the cruise fare and additional costs so you can compare the full trip.

Children, grandparents, mobility

S.S. Maria Theresa for the whole family

Three honest notes: what the ship does for children, what it does for grandparents, and what it asks of anyone with limited mobility.

Children
Generations departures welcome children; other dates do not cater for them.
Grandparents
Docked in town centers, no tenders, elevators between most decks and gentle-pace excursions; one of the easiest trips we sell.
Accessibility
Elevators between most decks but not all, and no fully accessible staterooms in the ocean-ship sense. We discuss fit candidly.

Planning for the whole family?

Connecting suites, different activity levels, dining that works for everyone, and transfers that suit grandparents and toddlers alike. The best family suites go first, so start early.

Our promise

We will say no.

We do not recommend a cruise because it is expensive, and we do not put people on the wrong ship. If S.S. Maria Theresa is not right for your party, we will tell you and suggest the one that is, even if it costs less or is sold by someone else. We are an advisor, not a booking engine.
