Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Regent's newest ship: everything included, elegant without being stiff.
Overview
Grandeur is the third of Regent's Explorer class and the most refined. The ship is elegant and a little traditional: marble, a grand atrium, a proper theater, several specialty restaurants that cost nothing extra and a spa that is among the best in the fleet.
It suits travelers in their sixties and seventies well, and grandparents hosting adult children. Teenagers are welcome and find enough to do; young children less so, as there is no club on most sailings.
At a glance
We will say whether Seven Seas Grandeur is right for your party, which suite we would book and which sailing, or name the ship we would choose instead.
Price
Upper luxury per person, but with excursions, drinks, specialty dining, Wi-Fi, gratuities and often flights in the fare, so compare the full trip rather than the headline. Planning figures on each sailing page.

The Seven Seas Grandeur sailings we would shortlist run from about $7,700 per person for 7 nights, depending on ship, suite, season and itinerary.
All-suite accommodation; Shore excursions in every port; Drinks and specialty dining; Gratuities and Wi-Fi; Flights and pre-cruise hotel on many fares. Anything not on that list, we price alongside the fare so there is no surprise on board.
Flights, hotel nights before and after, private transfers and any excursions outside the fare sit on top. Your proposal sets out the cruise fare and additional costs so you can compare the full trip.

On board
In our words, from the questions we are asked most. Suite names are the line's; which one we would book is ours.
Tell us who is traveling and we will name the deck and the suite numbers we would hold, and the ones we would avoid.
Children, grandparents, mobility
Three honest notes: what the ship does for children, what it does for grandparents, and what it asks of anyone with limited mobility.
Connecting suites, different activity levels, dining that works for everyone, and transfers that suit grandparents and toddlers alike. The best family suites go first, so start early.
Where it sails
The regions this ship sails as far as we know; the itinerary confirms the ports and the season.

The easiest great cruise there is: short flights, famous ports, and a ship for every kind of family.

Small ships, island overnights, and a late season that runs into October.

Venice, Dubrovnik and Kotor in a week, on ships small enough for the old harbors.

Winter sun for the whole family, on ships that make Christmas and half-term easy.

Copenhagen, Stockholm, Tallinn and Helsinki in a week, with culture the whole way.

Deck plans and photographs
Regent publishes the deck plan on its official site; we send it marked with the suites we recommend and the ones we would avoid.

Our promise
We do not recommend a cruise because it is expensive, and we do not put people on the wrong ship. If Seven Seas Grandeur is not right for your party, we will tell you and suggest the one that is, even if it costs less or is sold by someone else. We are an advisor, not a booking engine.

Excursions in every port, specialty dining, drinks including fine wines, Wi-Fi, gratuities, and on many fares flights and a pre-cruise hotel night. The headline fare looks high; the all-in cost is competitive.
Elegant casual by day and evening, with formal-optional nights that many guests enjoy. Nobody is turned away for not owning a dinner jacket.
Same line
Grandeur's sister: the same inclusive formula, a few years older.

The first of Regent's modern class, still one of the most spacious ships at sea.

Regent's smaller, well-kept ship for longer and more distant itineraries.
