Overview

Silver Muse entered service in 2017 and carries around 600 guests. It introduced the eight-restaurant layout and the suite design that Moon and Dawn followed, with a butler in every suite.

Muse is the first of the class and remains one of the most elegant small ships at sea: the same restaurants as Moon bar S.A.L.T., the same suites, a pool deck that is never crowded and a crew who learn names fast.

It often takes Alaska, Japan and the Pacific, which makes it the Silversea ship to consider for a destination-led couple going farther.

The fare

The Silversea sailings we would shortlist run from about $8,300 to $17,600 per person for 9 to 10 nights, depending on ship, suite, season and itinerary.

What that includes

Butler service in every suite; Drinks and dining; Gratuities and Wi-Fi; Door-to-door option with flights and transfers; Expedition activities on expedition ships. Anything not on that list, we price alongside the fare so there is no surprise on board.

Around the ship

Flights, hotel nights before and after, private transfers and any excursions outside the fare sit on top. Your proposal sets out the cruise fare and additional costs so you can compare the full trip.

A Deluxe Veranda suite midship on Deck 6 or 7 for most couples; a Silver suite for a separate living area.

Children, grandparents, mobility

Silver Muse for the whole family

Three honest notes: what the ship does for children, what it does for grandparents, and what it asks of anyone with limited mobility.

Children
No children's club and nothing laid on for them; not our pick for a party with children.
Grandparents
Intimate and unhurried with a butler to arrange the day. Good for Alaska, where the ship is small enough for the inner passages.
Accessibility
A small number of accessible suites; several Alaska and Japan ports by tender.

Planning for the whole family?

Connecting suites, different activity levels, dining that works for everyone, and transfers that suit grandparents and toddlers alike. The best family suites go first, so start early.

Our promise

We will say no.

We do not recommend a cruise because it is expensive, and we do not put people on the wrong ship. If Silver Muse is not right for your party, we will tell you and suggest the one that is, even if it costs less or is sold by someone else. We are an advisor, not a booking engine.

Silver Muse FAQs

Is Silver Muse showing its age?

No. It was built in 2017 and is maintained to the same standard as the newer ships; the main difference from Moon is the absence of S.A.L.T.
