The fare
The Silver Nova sailings we would shortlist run from about $8,300 per person for 9 nights, depending on ship, suite, season and itinerary.

Silversea
Silversea's brightest ship: asymmetric, open to the sea, a butler in every suite.
Overview
Nova carries around 730 guests, the most in the Silversea fleet, yet the design makes it feel smaller: the atrium and pool sit to one side so the ship opens to the view, and most public rooms have a wall of glass. Every suite has a butler.
It is the ship we recommend to couples and grandparents who want destination depth with comfort, and the one we name when asked for the best new luxury ship. The Adriatic and the Mediterranean in shoulder season are where it shines.
At a glance
We will say whether Silver Nova is right for your party, which suite we would book and which sailing, or name the ship we would choose instead.
Price
Upper luxury; the optional door-to-door fare adds flights, transfers and a hotel night, so compare the whole trip. Planning figures on each sailing page.

The Silver Nova sailings we would shortlist run from about $8,300 per person for 9 nights, depending on ship, suite, season and itinerary.
Butler service in every suite; Drinks and dining; Gratuities and Wi-Fi; Door-to-door option with flights and transfers; Expedition activities on expedition ships. Anything not on that list, we price alongside the fare so there is no surprise on board.
Flights, hotel nights before and after, private transfers and any excursions outside the fare sit on top. Your proposal sets out the cruise fare and additional costs so you can compare the full trip.

On board
In our words, from the questions we are asked most. Suite names are the line's; which one we would book is ours.
Tell us who is traveling and we will name the deck and the suite numbers we would hold, and the ones we would avoid.
Children, grandparents, mobility
Three honest notes: what the ship does for children, what it does for grandparents, and what it asks of anyone with limited mobility.
Connecting suites, different activity levels, dining that works for everyone, and transfers that suit grandparents and toddlers alike. The best family suites go first, so start early.
Where it sails
The regions this ship sails as far as we know; the itinerary confirms the ports and the season.

Venice, Dubrovnik and Kotor in a week, on ships small enough for the old harbors.

The easiest great cruise there is: short flights, famous ports, and a ship for every kind of family.

Small ships, island overnights, and a late season that runs into October.

Glaciers, whales and bears from a small ship, with a pre-cruise stop in Vancouver.

Winter sun for the whole family, on ships that make Christmas and half-term easy.

Kyoto, Hiroshima and the Inland Sea without the trains, hotels and luggage.

Deck plans and photographs
Silversea publishes the plan on its official site; we send it marked with the suites we recommend and the ones to avoid.
We do not yet hold a licensed photograph of Silver Nova itself, so there is no picture of it here: we never show a sister ship in its place.

Our promise
We do not recommend a cruise because it is expensive, and we do not put people on the wrong ship. If Silver Nova is not right for your party, we will tell you and suggest the one that is, even if it costs less or is sold by someone else. We are an advisor, not a booking engine.

It is larger, brighter and asymmetric, with the pool on the side of the ship and more glass everywhere. It is also more relaxed in the evening than the classic fleet, while keeping the butlers and inclusive fare.
For adult families and teenagers, yes. There is no kids' club on most sailings, so for young children we would suggest Explora instead.
